Amp is priced like a hire: a setup fee to install the AI employee, then a monthly fee to manage it. This policy explains refunds for those payments. If your signed engagement agreement states different refund terms, that agreement controls.

1. What you pay
Unless your agreement says otherwise, a typical engagement uses this payment shape:
- Setup fee for discovery, role design, configuration in your tools, historical proof, shadowing, and launch. Founding setup is currently listed at $1,500 per AI employee; planned standard setup is higher.
- Deposit: 30% of the setup fee is due to reserve the engagement and begin install work.
- Remainder of setup + first month is due at go-live.
- Monthly seat covers ongoing management, corrections, ordinary workflow maintenance, and ROI reporting. Founding monthly is currently listed at $750 per AI employee.
Discovery calls themselves are free. Booking a call does not create a charge.
2. Setup deposit (30%)
Before install work starts: If you cancel after paying the deposit and we have not yet begun paid discovery, configuration, or other install work under the agreement, we will refund the deposit in full within 10 business days of your written cancel request.
After install work starts: The deposit becomes non-refundable because it funds real work (discovery time, role design, configuration, proof preparation). If Amp cancels the engagement for reasons other than your material breach or refusal to provide necessary access, we will refund any unused portion of the deposit and any prepaid amounts for work not performed.
If Amp declines after deposit: If we determine during early work that the shop or role is not a fit and we stop the engagement on that basis, we will refund the deposit less a reasonable charge for work already performed, or in full if no material work has begun. We will tell you which applies in writing.
3. Remainder of setup fee
The remaining setup balance is due at go-live. Once the role has gone live, the setup fee is earned for the install work completed and is not refundable, except where Amp failed to deliver the agreed launch through Amp’s own material failure and cannot cure within a commercially reasonable time.
If you cancel after install work is underway but before go-live, you remain responsible for the deposit and for documented install work performed beyond the deposit, up to the full setup fee stated in your agreement. We will not charge for work we did not perform.
4. Monthly fees
Monthly fees pay for ongoing management of the AI employee. Amp is meant to be easy to exit: you can end the engagement the way you would let an employee go, subject to any notice period in your agreement (if none is stated, 14 days’ written notice).
- Prepaid monthly fees for a period that has already started are generally not refunded for unused days in that period.
- We will not bill new monthly periods after the engagement end date that follows proper notice.
- If Amp stops providing the managed service without cause before the end of a prepaid month, we will refund the unused portion of that prepaid month on a pro-rata basis.
5. Founding offer and price changes
Founding rates apply only to the first five qualified commercial electrical contractors who complete agreement and deposit under that offer, first come, first served. Changing your mind after a founding slot is filled does not create a refund right beyond the deposit and cancel rules above. Site prices may change for future customers; changes do not alter fees already locked in a signed agreement.
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us before filing a payment dispute so we can resolve it directly. Filing a chargeback without first attempting resolution may delay offboarding help and can be treated as a billing dispute under your agreement.
7. How to request a refund
Email michael@ampemployee.com with:
- Your name and company
- The payment date and amount
- What you are asking to cancel or refund
- A short reason
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method when possible, within 10 business days after approval. Bank or card-network timing after that is outside Amp’s control.
8. Exceptions
Nothing in this policy limits refunds or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law. Amp may also issue a goodwill refund or credit at our discretion when that is the fair outcome.
